About Tallow Enterprise Centre

Tallow Enterprise Centre is located at Nora Herlihy House, West Street, Tallow, in West Co. Waterford. The centre was initially set up by the Tallow Enterprise Group Ltd., which was formed in 1986 by the coming together of; the local community, Tallow Area Credit Union and FÁS (known then as AnCO).

Tallow Enterprise Group Ltd., is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status and supervises Tallow Enterprise Centre. It is comprised of a voluntary board of directors who, with assistance from State Bodies and non Governmental Organisations, have undertaken many beneficial community projects.

Over the years the board members have changed and the current board is made up of a very dedicated team of directors, all members of the local community; Sean Tobin, John Lyons, Mike Kearney, Frances Tobin and John O'Sullivan.

It has always been the aim of Tallow Enterprise Group to establish and promote community development. Currently Tallow Enterprise Centre is engaged in the provision of education and training for all identified needs in the community of Tallow and the surrounding areas. This is with the view to promoting social, economic and cultural welfare and particularly empowering specific disadvantaged groups to effectively participate in programmes of personal and social development. The centre is home to a broadband enabled computer training room with 10 'up to the minute' computers, an office support facility, a childcare facility and offers a wide range other services.
